Growing To Give Projects In Africa

Africa is reeling from the short-term effects of a pandemic and long-term consequences of climate change. More than half of African children go hungry at least one day a week and a third of those barely survive on food most of us would toss in the garbage. In fact, it’s not uncommon to see hundreds of children looking for scraps at local landfills.

More than half of Africa’s population are children and half of those are malnourished lacking basic foodstuffs to maintain health and half of those are starving. A staggering 120,000,000 children suspectable to a myriad of diseases and eventual death. Every second child that dies in Africa dies of hunger.

Children that go hungry struggle to survive in a hellish environment that offers little chance of escape. Children, often left to fend for themselves, end up fighting in endless conflicts if they survive to adulthood. Most can’t read or write and are physiologically damaged processing only most basic of human interactional skills. What they don’t have, they will learn to take.

Growing To Give builds community farm & garden initiatives throughout Africa, particularly in countries dealing with severe water shortages. Our water-smart food growing technologies use 90% less water without loss of production in regions reeling from years of drought and famine.

1

Growing To Give South Africa

Become An Agent For Good in South Africa where years of drought has cut local food production by half due to severe water restrictions. Creating community neighborhood by neighborhood, community farms would be a big step towards reducing the countries dependence on expensive food imports.

2

Growing To Give Ethiopia Africa

Become An Agent For Good in Ethiopia where years of civil war have left most of the country in tatters. Children suffer the most when families are torn apart, and communities are destroyed. You can help rebuild starting with schools teaching children to grow food for themselves and their families.

3

Growing To Give Mauritania

Become An Agent For Good in ancient Mauritania in the Western Sahara. A sprawling desert country that empties into the sea, Mauritania is home to the famous “eye of the desert” some think is the geological location of fabled Atlantis. Once fertile and lush, this desert landscape country cannot feed its children.

4

Growing To Give Chad Africa

Become An Agent For Good in Chad where more than a million children are predicted to perish without immediate solutions to food production. As famine looms for the country, little help is coming as western countries deal with post pandemic food shortages. You can help by donating to provide growing to give gardens.
